Below you will find a video of Nino, a week into our off leash dog training program. Nino was very difficult to control as far as her owners were concerned. She (Nino) really has a mind of her own, well, I guess that is the Husky in her.
Truth beknown, Nino was a little difficult to walk on a leash at the beginning of our off leash dog training too. So, she was diagnosed correctly by her human family.
Many times the problem with the leash is we do half the job in training our dog NOT to pull; we have the jerking back on the leash correct, but fail to provide direction to our dog or puppy by turning around and showing her what position we expect her to be in.
A little difficult to explain, but….beacause we are handling our leash incorrectly, the dog keeps expecting to get his or neck jerked backed, so instead he thinks by fleeing in the opposite direction of the uncomfortableness he might get away; I guess I may feel the same way too.
Off leash dog training elimates this anticipation, just ask Nino!
